Dashboards and reporting in Lebanon for owners, not accountants
Dashboards and reporting in Lebanon are usually a spreadsheet the accountant emails, a photo of a notebook, and a feeling in the owner’s stomach. You find out last month was bad when the supplier refuses to load the van. The job of a dashboard is earlier: today, on your phone, five numbers that are true enough to act.
The problem owners have today
Sales are in WhatsApp. Stock is a guess. Cash is in a drawer and in three apps. Bookings are a diary. Nobody can answer “did we make money this week in fresh dollars?” without a fight. A partner asks for a number. You send a screenshot. They send a different screenshot. Trust inside the family business drops for no operational reason, only because the truth is scattered.
Agencies love charts. You need exceptions: COD that did not return, a clinic chair empty three days in a row, an item that has not moved in 60 days, a delivery area that only produces refusals. If the screen cannot say that in Arabic at 8am, it is not for you.
The outcome you get
A phone screen: today versus last week, cash collected versus still out, stock alerts, bookings filled. You open it the way you open WhatsApp. You do not wait for Friday. Staff see only their slice. You stop asking the team to “make me a file”. Partners in the diaspora can see the same numbers without a 20-minute voice note that is already stale. When a week is bad, you know on Wednesday, not when the generator bill arrives.
This is not a wall of charts. If a number does not change what you do before lunch, it does not belong on the first screen. Extra detail can live one tap away for the person who actually needs it, a manager, not every waiter.
What you get
- A short list of metrics you choose. We will push back if you ask for thirty. Thirty is how dashboards die.
- Sources wired: store, booking, inventory, or a clean sheet after migration, whatever you actually run.
- USD / LBP split if you live that split. COD outstanding as its own number.
- Simple date filters: today, this week, this month. Not a query builder.
- Roles. Export of a summary if you still must send a partner a PDF.
- Mobile layout. You will not sit at a desktop in the shop.
Not included: replacing your accountant or filing VAT. If they need a trial balance, they keep their tools. This is operations, not the ministry.
Process
- Name the five numbers. If you cannot, we watch a week of your questions (“how much COD is in Hamra?”) and steal those.
- Check the sources. Garbage in stays garbage. Sometimes we must fix stock or booking first.
- Fixed quote. Starts from $400.
- Live with you for a week. If you still WhatsApp the accountant for the same number, we missed the metric. We change it.
Lebanon-specific issues this service actually hits
USD and LBP: a single “sales” bar that mixes them is how owners fool themselves. Split it. Rate used for any conversion should be your rate, dated, visible, not a silent surprise.
Cash on delivery and Whish: “sales” that are not in the drawer yet are not cash. The dashboard should show promised versus collected or you will spend money you have not held.
Cuts: the phone view should show last synced time. Stale is allowed. Pretending to be live during a blackout is not. You decide with a timestamp, not with hope.
WhatsApp volume is not a vanity chart unless it predicts orders. We would rather show tickets created than “messages received”.
Price range
Owner dashboards start from $400. See pricing and, if the sheet is still the source, Excel to system. Proof: live dashboard, finance view.
Questions owners ask
What is a business dashboard in Lebanon for?
So the owner sees today: sales, bookings, stock, cash in, cash promised, without waiting for a file on Friday. It is not a 40-tab report nobody opens.
Is this the same as accounting?
No. Accounting is for the state and the auditor. A dashboard is for the decision before lunch: order more, stop a delivery area, call a no-show, or raise a price that is losing money after the rate move.
Can it mix USD and LBP?
It must, or it is decoration. We show money the way you already manage the till: what came in fresh, what came in LBP, what is still COD in the street.
Where does the data come from?
From the systems you already run or that we build: store, booking, stock, a sheet we migrate. A dashboard with no source is a drawing. We will not fake numbers to make a demo pretty.
Who is allowed to see what?
You, maybe a partner, maybe a manager. A waiter should not see margin. Roles are part of the build, not an afterthought when a file leaks in a family group.
How much does a reporting system cost?
Starts from $400. More sources and more roles cost more. Fixed quote after we list the five numbers you actually use.
